Three of my friends from church and I went to one of the Buddhist temples near COEX to play tourist for a while. Here are the pics from that day. The statue of the buddha is surprisingly big, and you'd think something like that would be visible for miles away. However, it's fairly well hidden by tall buildings; to tell the truth, I didn't even see it until we were well past it....
Though the temple has been around for quite some time, the statue itself was only built in 1996. That little revelation was a bit underwhelming for me -- I had been expecting some elaborate story about how it was built waaaaaay back hundreds of years ago and nobody know how they did it. Oh well....
