Imitation²
Spam is a big thing in Hawaii; it's also a pretty big thing in Korea. You don't need high-quality meat in a kimbab (김밥) roll or musubi -- just something that has that ham kind of taste.
This kind of thing worries me, though -- when you see imitation Spam.

I have to wonder here! Why these kinds of imitations worry you?
ReplyDeleteI don't know why this bothers me, it just does. Everyone prefers to have high quality stuff to shove in their mouth, but sometimes the cost and convenience of low quality meat outweighs it.
ReplyDeleteHaving grown up on the Mainland U.S., I inherited a general disdain for Spam. Although it dissipated somewhat after my years in Hawaii, I still prefer not to eat it when I can.
To then see imitation Spam seems like another step down on the Meat Quality Meter. I'm very suspicious of it.
