
Coca-Cola's name is transliterated "KeKou KeLe," and as far as Chinese brand names go it's pretty good. The "kou" refers to the mouth, and the "kele" (the imported word for cola) connotes happiness. So the Coca part works well with the Cola part.
It's also got something I haven't seen since I was a little kid: the peel away top. I think I remember about people who'd drop the top inside the can and then choke on them as they drank.
I guess either China doesn't have the same kind of consumer protection regulations, or Chinese people are smart enough they don't have the need for them.
