Today is Veteran’s Day Observed, so the consulate is closed. Yesterday was my last day; I had lunch with all the other interns and before I left, everyone (including the officers) came by my desk and wished me well. I feel pretty sad to be leaving everyone.
In the evening, there was a banquet for all the CHEMBAs and their company sponsors. The food was great, and I got a chance to meet with a couple of alumni, but I think I ate something that didn’t quite agree with my digestive system – I’ve been at home for most of the day.
Tomorrow there’s a Thomas Friedman lecture at a place called Three on the Bund, which (through my consulate contacts) I was able to secure a seat in. Hopfully I’ll feel better.
