Normally, I don’t watch the State of the Union Address. If asked, I would say that it’s a good idea – something that every citizen should do – but in recent years I’ve only been finding out about it in the news the following day.
This year was a little different, for two reasons: 1.) It was a discussion topic in one of my tutoring classes, and 2.) By this time next year, I’ll be the Army, and I thought it’d be a good thing to know what’s up.
Given that it’s about twelve pages long, blogging the whole thing didn’t seem feasible, so instead got the transcript from Voice of America and created a new page: Commentary on the 2008 State of the Union Address. My comments are in italics. (PDF version)
