I saw this commercial today. It's about this Korean cow that wants to immigrate to California because -- supposedly -- they're all happy out there.
Given the Korean perception of U.S. beef and the whole mad cow/anti-FTA movement there, that strikes me as a bit strange. Without touching on the validity of these rioters concerns ...
... let's just say Korean beef is considered premium stuff, almost like Kobe beef. So it struck me as a bit funny that this Korean cow would give up its more-or-less "privileged" position to emigrate to America when - by their perspective - we've only got a bunch of brain-addled cows hanging around.
Besides, California's got it wrong anyway. If you really want to see happy cows, you've got to the farms outside the Jack Daniel's distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. The cows there get fed the distillery's left over sour mash.
Now thems happy cows.
