Offer accepted

Over the past month, SY and I looked at about a dozen houses in the Killeen area before finally making an offer last week. Good news for us: it was accepted without a counteroffer.

Here are a few pictures of the place.



The place is pretty cool, I think. Brick on three sides. Quiet neighborhood. That's a second driveway you see to the left of the house; I guess that'd be good for a boat or an RV. The backyard has a lot of potential -- it's got a huge tree and a little ... I don't know ... courtyard lookin' thing.

I plan to learn about what plants would be suitable (given the heat and everything) and make it look nicer. We haven't decided what to do with the $8,000 first time home buyer tax credit, but it'll probably go toward furniture. As for the mortgage, I'm happy with the terms we got -- less than 5% on a fixed, 30 year loan.

We're set to close at the end of August.
