A new rule came down from battalion: we all have to wear our DAPS while on mission. I can't imagine the rationale for it, but then again, I don't really care anymore.
I had an "Army style" conversation when I walked to the shower room in the morning. It went something like this:
"This shower's closed."
"Why?"
"For cleaning."
I pointed to the sign. "But the sign says it's closed only from 1300 to 1500."
"Well, since everyone's gone out to the Box they changed it."
"Not everyone's out. We support units are still here."
"That shower over there is always open. You can use that."
"Oh, I see."
On I walked away, I asked, "So, why doesn't you take the sign down?"
The soldier just shrugged his shoulders.
"Not authorized to take take it down, huh?"
"No," he said. "Not authorized...."
