Royal Wedding

The last time I saw a royal wedding on TV was 1981. I don’t normally care about the royal family (preferring instead to keep out of their business), but since this was televised, I felt I might as well watch. I suppose once a generation isn’t too bad.

Perhaps more interesting than the wedding was seeing the Australian reaction to it. The women in the office were entranced by it; others blew it off for political reasons – they’d rather Australia ditch the Commonwealth and be a republic Most guys, though, took an interest in it out of national pride and respect for the Queen. Those sentiments did not preclude comments about how “smoking hot” Kate was, but it was all in good fun.
