Italian food in Afghanistan

In Korea, I used to have to go to these mandatory fun dinner meetings called 회식 (會食,hui-shik). You'd have to go because your boss was there, but it wasn't really any fun, you know, because your boss was there.

Today it was the same kind of thing. We had a meeting, followed by a mandatory dinner at a restaurant on the boardwalk called Mama Mia's. It's not a bad place -- the food is good -- but it's a bit overpriced, even considering it's Afghanistan. This bowl of pasta, for example, was $13.

Still, it makes for a good change of pace.
