Drawing down? No, transferring over

On June 21st, President Obama announced the beginning of a drawdown.

In order to effect the drawdown without hurting combat strength, a significant portion of those getting out is logisitics troops. For example, our sister company of forklift drivers from our home battalion is leaving here three months earlier than what they were originally scheduled. They'll be home before us.

Jerks.

So who will be the ones who will load and unload the flights and convoys that criss-cross the country? Private contractors such as Dyncorp.

I don't know what their salaries are, but you can bet they make more than a U.S. Army lieutenant. So don't expect overall military defense expenditures to go down just because we've got less troops deployed -- we're just transferring the war over to the private sector.
