The plan was for PT to start at 5:45, but things got messed up higher up the food chain.
I arrived at the parking lot between 5 and 10 minutes early to find only about six cars -- a sure sign that something was up. Shortly after, I got a text message that the venue had changed to a field house. Instead of a company run, the plan was now to fall in on a group of NCOs doing the Army's new Physical Readiness Training (PRT) program.
A number of us captains were not very excited about standing in a formation and taking commands from an NCO, but I guess that's what the Army wants us to do, so there you go.
At 8:00 we took the medical assessment -- with just one day's worth, it wasn't worth a full-blown test, but as a closed book, short answer quiz it was still challenging.
For the rest of the day, we worked as a group on the LEX (Logistics Exercise). The idea on this is to develop a support plan for an armored brigade in a deployment setting. We'll continue on it into next week.
