Instead, we were pushed off to a different room that was much too small for our size. Rather than make people sit on the floor, though, they decided to divide us and see the overflow people at 1:00. Good call.
So instead of doing finance in the morning, I went back down to Portsmouth to send off my car. Surprisingly, the paperwork and inspection didn't take as long as I thought -- I got there at 10:20 and was out by 11:05. Of course, it helped that there wasn't a line.
The finance brief was quicker than I thought, too -- that finished by 2:00. Not that it was all that complicated -- outprocessing briefs are typically shorter than the inprocessing ones anyway. From what it looks like, I'll be able to get an advance on the Dislocation Allowance (DLA) as well as 80% of the two days' per diem.Nice, easy day.
