Today I started the two-week Support Operations Course (phase II -- phase I is online). The course is designed to prepare NCOs, warrants, and commissioned officers to serve in battalion and brigade SPO (support operations) shops. Since that's what I hope to in Korea, I figured it would be a good use of time.
And as I found out today, the second week will spent designing a concept of support similar to the one I flubbed in CLC3. I'm happy about that -- maybe I can do a better job this time and redeem my logistics self-confidence.
As the first day, the morning was pretty easy. We did self-introductions, went over the schedule, and took a diagnostic test. After lunch, we went over the structures of the generic armored brigade combat team, a sustainment brigade, and the support operations shops. We also went over the military Decision Making Process (MDMP), and then finished at about 4:30.
