Oh well. At least I'm not up for promotion *this* year.
An article in the Army Times reports that promotions to major will be reverting back to the 11 year mark, meaning that my turn (primary zone) will come up around 2020. While that's not good news, I'm happy I'm in YG2009 rather than YG 2010 -- those guys will average 48 months as a lieutenant.
It makes me want to transfer to the FAO branch as soon as I can. I think it would be interesting to have three years experience filling a major slot as a captain before I actually go before the board.
