Good apples

My wife dished out some money for some "deluxe" apples. We got three boxes like this for about $55. My first thought was, "What makes them so special?" Apples for $1.50 each doesn't sound like a good price. As she explains, they're individually wrapped and stored so that they stay fresh and tasty. They're also washed, and you can eat the peel (Koreans usually peel apples). They're also free from blemishes and uniform in size. I have to admit, yes, they are really good, even if I was perfectly content with the regular ones. As such, fruit packaged like this makes a good gift item. We gave a box to my parents-in-law (and kept the other two), and we've been snacking on them since.
