A long week
This past week was a long one -- a full five days in the office. I haven't had one of those since mid-November, and won't have another one until the end of February.
It all started on the week of November 25th to 29th. That was Thanksgiving weekend. The following week, there was a loss in the family, so I missed a few days.
Then came the week of December 9th to the 13th. That week was taken up by the Warpath III exercise. I spent the week on night shift.
The week of December 16th to the 20th followed. Because of the exercise, we got Monday the 16th off. On Tuesday, the company had a ski trip. I worked the next two days, then got a snow day that Friday the 20th.
The next week had Christmas, so we lost out on two days, and the remaining three were half-days. I remember we had a couple meetings about our battalion's move to a new building, plus another about the safety program.
December 30th to January 3rd was exactly the same -- two days off, and not much done during the other three. That leads us up to this past week.
Next week is short because we'll get Friday off as part of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday holiday (the Army turns all three day weekends into four). The following Monday makes the January 20th-24th another short one.
At the end of January, we get some Korea-specific holidays. January 31st is a day off because of the Lunar (Chinese) New Year. Then we get February 3rd off to watch the Super Bowl (because of the time delay). Factor in the President's Day holiday, and it won't be until the week of February 24th to 28th that I'll have another five day work week.
It will be a wonder if I get anything done.
