It surprises me when I hear about people who can't remember which Korea is the "good one." Here's a line from an email I got a while back from a soldier's attorney asking for their contact information:
I know this is a strange email (you are in North Korea, and without trying to offend anyone, those North Koreans appear from my vantage point, very irrational) but you listed yourself as a point of contact ....
In my response, I included the following:
I will pass along your contact information. Please note we are in South Korea, where people are much more "rational" and democratic. If we were actually in North Korea, it would be because we were conducting an invasion, and [soldier's name] would be staying a good bit longer than originally planned.
Maybe that came off a bit snarky, but c'mon -- the guy was an attorney. They're supposed to be smart. And his client was IN Korea -- was it not worth knowing which half?
