Decision: Need more paperwork

So the big day finally arrived. I met with the brigade commander for my change of command out-brief, and I have no financial liability that will prevent me from moving to my next duty station. That's the good news. However, I have a bit of homework to do. Last March, my company turned in a nasty, rusted out container full of excess junk (the one marked 4786-6). Though the junk inside was not on my property book, the container itself was. And though the container was nearly useless (and to my knowledge, destroyed for scrap), I still have to fully account for it. The document that I had gotten when I'd turned it in, however, does not meet relevant standards. So it's my job to track down any third party documentation that would indicate what I've got is a valid document.

In the meantime, I'm not flagged, which I guess means I'm free to outprocess. That's definitely a good thing. Just the same, I probably won't really feel completely at ease until I'm actually on the plane.
