Anti-democratic

With Brexit looming, the word "anti-democratic" is getting flung around by all sides. Prime Minister Boris Johnson says that attempt or measure than prevents Britain's departure from the European Union is anti-democratic because it would go against the 2016 referendum.

Specifically, he thinks the Irish border "backstop" is "inconsistent with the sovereignty of the UK" and said the arrangement would be "anti-democratic" because it offered no means for the UK to unilaterally exit and no say for the people of Northern Ireland over the rules that would apply there. The opposition says a No-Deal Brexit is anti-democratic because that's not what the referendum was about.[Link]

And then there's this Scottish lady, who says the referendum was anti-democratic because the majority of Scots didn't want to leave the EU at all. [Link]

At the moment, the only thing I think democracy in Britain could agree on is that no one's happy.
