Bad news, then good

On Monday the 25th, the audiology machine was still out of order, so on Tuesday I went to Schofield Barracks to see if I could use theirs. It could some coordination between the Schofield Occupational Health office and their audiology department, but fortunately those two offices are right next to each other.

With audiology done, I checked in with the Tripler Occupational Health office to see if everything was OK. Frustratingly, it was not -- the doctor said I still needed to meet with neurology because he didn't have all the information he needed to fill out that OF178.

However, today I got some good news -- the occupational health doctor was able to access my neurologist's notes in the VA system, and it turns out he has everything he needed.

So, if I understand this right, the OF178 goes to the civilian personnel office (CPAC), where it will get sent to Japan, and a final decision can be made whether to move forward with my candidacy.

If everything's a "Go," I should get a final offer in the next two weeks or so, which is good. I'm ready to start getting paid again.
