Germany doesn't really have "beef jerky" in the same way the U.S. does -- packaged, processed strips of beef. Instead, they have sausage variations.

I remember telling my dad about this, and he said, "Oh yeah, we have those in Wisconsin!" It blew my mind -- I'd lived in the Midwest for quite a while, and I'd never seen such things before.

But sure enough -- they're in the Piggly Wiggly grocery store near their house.
