Speed humps helpful substitute for bumps

Maui residents are calling of the installation of new "speed humps," gradual rises in the roads that discourage drivers from traveling at speeds higher than 20 miles per hour.

Whereas speed bumps require drivers to slow down almost to the point of stopping, speed humps can be used to keep cars from exceeding 20 mph. Speed humps are effectual, versatile, cost-effective, and less damaging to cars than speed humps. As a result, speed humps would be especially useful around university campuses.

The Manoa campus is particularly inundated with speed bumps, many of which are so pronounced that it is nearly impossible to drive over them without causing damage to the undercarriage of a vehicle.

In particular, speed humps could replace the ridiculous number of nightmarish speed bumps that must be passed in order to get anywhere on campus. Students living in dorms must pass over a dozen of these bumps in order to get to and from housing areas.
