Korean test for State

Today was day two of the JEMBAs’ presentations. We CHEMBAs give ours tomorrow.

I took the Korean language test for the State Department today, and I have to say I’m frustrated. The first part – the free talking part – went pretty well, but then in the second part came and I flailed about like a fish on a dock. They asked me to collect my thoughts and give a short speech about the changes that have occurred in America.

They offered a few examples, such as life in a small town, changes in family values, or nostalgia. I couldn’t think of anything to say about any of those things (I’ve been in Hawaii for ten years, and things here are a bit different than the Mainland), so I started babbling about how land prices have gone up in the past five years, and now there are many homeless.

I’ll find out the results in about a week or so, but until then I’ll just be irritated by poor Korean skills. Cross your fingers.

Bryan I sincerely hope you and SueYoung are a happy couple again. I was surely sad to read on of your blogs that indicated that there was some discontent brewinghang in there and God bless ytou and SueYoung and particularily your marriage. Just to fill you in on what;s happening on this end Gramma Fran is not doing very well in fact I doubt that she will be around much longer.
