Navigating Tokyo

Well, I got to the presentation place, though I was two hours late. Tokyo is a bit different than other cities’ subways I’ve been in – the subway and above-ground trains are separate, meaning that sometimes you have to exit one station and go into a continguous, but different, station.

Moreover, I made an error. The place I was trying to get to – Hitotsubashi Daigakuin (一橋大学院) – is not located at the Hitotsubashi Gakuen (一橋学園) station. This didn’t occur to me until I saw the Japanese map. It was a very good thing that I realized it in time, or else I would have been even later than I was.

The highlight of my day was waking up and seeing Mount Fuji in the distance.

It rained somewhat recently, so the air was really clear. From what our hosts sais, it’s not normally visible, even from the northern suburb we’re in, Kita-Akabane (北赤羽).
