Day 29 - Ain't no "light" PT here

Today was pretty easy, since half of the platoon and the other half of the company were on the range trying to zero their weapons. We did MSE in the morning, followed by a two-mile run. I got 16:55 on the crappy sandtrack, which is only 15 seconds off from the 16:38 I need to get 70%. If I can do that on the road, I think I’ll be pretty good.

While they were away, the remainder of us are really well, since there were fewer time constraints on lunch and breakfast. Dinner was only four minutes, though, so I had to pound that stuff down. Almost choked on the cornbread – got to remember to avoid eating that if I don’t have enough liquids.

“Light” PT seemed like anything but. Flutter kicks, push-ups, bicycles, toe-ups, V-ups… ugh. And without explanation, we had to re-register our weapons’ serial numbers. But for the most part, we didn’t do anything. I’m not complaining – because of the heat, today was a good day for that.
