We started the day off right with breakfast -- biscuits & gravy, eggs, grits, PB&J, apple, waffles, crumb cake, milk, and miniwheats. In the morning we practiced carries and commando-crawled through thick sand. I think I hurt my back; I hope it's just a sprain.
Before we headed back to the barracks, we had a "first responder relay." Basically it was a run through the forest with extra fun added, like "you have a casualty. There's this, this, and this wrong. What do you do?" While I knew the answer, I screwed up putting on the tourniquet, and right in front of the company commander. Hs response wasn't very encouraging -- "why are all my OCS guys morons?"
But I did the needle decompression well; maybe it was because that didn't require me actually doing anything.
It felt great to shower once we got back. For dinner, we had breaded veal, cornbread, a pickle, salad, carrots, rice, and chocolate milk. Delta Company got a fresh set of recruits in. Kind of scary -- it reminded me of our early days.

I got four letters in the mail. Of course, that was great. We'll do a night FX tomorrow, though I'm not sure what that means.
