Woke up at 3:30. Got transportation to main post for the "Combat Readiness Run" from 6:45 to 7:20, which in retrospect seemed surprising short. I was in the front line (because I'm short) on the far left. I saw the command sergeant major, while other saw more of the top brass.
We got breakfast in the CTA (rather than in the DFAC) when we got back. One slice of French toast, grits, eggs, biscuit & gravy, fruit loops, bread w/PB&J, no cake :-(, milk, OJ, and an apple. Then we went to the field for urban operations.
Lunch was the most amazing thing. I was astonished to see king crab legs on the menu, along with fried oysters. I got that, along with a slice of bread, a roll, salad, corn, powerade, and 3 apple wedges. And because I was a bit late (typing out a packing list for DS A), I got extra time.
We got "weapons maintenance time" to prep for tomorrow's inspection, and packed our rucksacks. I'm *so* happy our 15k rucksacks won't be more than 35 pounds plus LCE, ACH, and Camelbak.
For dinner I was a weapons guard, so I got extra time again. Buffalo chicken, salad, mashed potatos, corn, corn bread, slice bread, OJ (no choco), and some cake. Cake!
Afterward, I wrote up an Excel spreadsheet of the platoon's meds for DS B. The T-shirt guy came by, so I ordered a long sleeve t-shirt and a short sleeve one for $60. I remember I'm also getting some stuff from 30th AG after graduation. Oh well...
Got a letter from Dad today. Good stuff.
