On the way from Oklahoma to Virginia, my BOLC 2 roommate and I decided to do a little sightseeing at the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Tennessee. Interestingly, they're in a dry county, so they can't give out any samples. They do, however, offer "commemorative" bottles for sale.
Here's a statue of the original Jack.
The whiskey's taste is helped by filtered water that comes from this pool.
The picture on the right is the sour mash that starts gets the yeast going.
The building on the right is just one of the many that house the barrels for aging.
A barrel of whiskey makes 240 single malt bottles.
Of course, you have to go to the gift shop afterwards.
That last one there is called a "Jack 'n Seth."
Tour guide's kneeling on the left; I'm sixth from the right, blocking some other guy's face.
