The colonel is going through with his plan to stop all cell phone use starting Saturday, though we can keep them on our person while on the FOB. I guess that means we'll have to be really discrete...
Our first big push is on Friday, but until the meeting at 1400 we won't have any details -- until then we're just spinning our wheels.
I didn't have to brief the colonel about tomorrow's missions, which was nice, but I have a bad feeling about it -- I just know that it's going to come up tomorrow. Regardless, the no cell phone rule is dumb as hell -- our radios aren't strong enough to get back to the main base, and we don't have the frequencies for the outlying FOBs. In essence, we're just going out to the Box and hoping for the best.
It's also hard because battalion is changing the rules after we've got everything planned. I had thought we could go our in one big mission, but no -- now we're not allowed to have any convoy serials longer than 25 vehicles. Depending on the final number of vehicles, we might have to make two or even three trips.
