One of the things I saw on the road that surprised me was the amount of work Afghan truck drivers put into "pimping" their rides.
The unofficial term for these is "jingle truck," but that became politically incorrect when people starting referring to locals -- derogatively -- as "jingles." They're now officially referred tto as "host nation trucks" or HNTs for short.
They completely outclass our trucks. The best I've seen on an Army truck is this "hood" ornament:
