When I got to the motor pool before the mission, I saw this box:

One vote for Tarin Kwot.
Then, when I arrived, I saw this sign outside the DFAC:

OK, two votes for Tarin Kwot.
But then I turned around and saw the PX.

Doggone it. I was going to have to Wikipedia it.
It's Tarin Kowt. Despite the 2-1 lead for Tarin Kwot, the name in Pashto is "ترین کوټ." It's a little ambiguous because there's it's more of an "oo" than an "ow," but it's definitely not "wo."
Oh well. It's an Australian DFAC. One of the things I learned from teaching English is never have an Australian teach phonics. I'll bet they put up this one, too.
