After about three years of living in this house, I finally fixed the blinds in the bedroom.
Soon after we moved in, the "teeth" that held the vertical vanes up began to fall out. I had no idea how to replace them, but I gave it my best shot. However, seeing that the little things were embedded in headrail, I gave up -- there was no way to replace them without tearing the whole things apart.
Time passed, and I didn't give it much thought until recently (because my wife reminded me). Finally, I went to Home Depot and ordered a new headrail. I didn't know if it would work without also replacing the vanes, but for $100, it was worth a shot.
Lo and behold, it worked out great. Not only did the vane clips match, but they're replaceable, too! How about that.
It took three years, but I'm done. Now to get the rest of the house ready.
