The worst day of golf...

...is better than the best day of work.

Yesterday was among the best days of "work" I've ever had. My battalion hotsed a best ball, shotgun start golf scramble to raise funds for its "going out of business" celebration.

To get ready for it, I didn't go to a driving range -- I went to Walmart. I got 48 assorted balls for $11, a $3 bag of tees, and a $9 hunting cap. I figured I'd be doing a lot of hunting anyway.

For $35 per person, my four-man team got out of an entire day's worth of meetings and laughed our butts off at our pathetic golf skills. Even better, the golf course featured a mobile snack wagon complete with alcoholic beverages.

As you can imagine, double bogey was the new par; we tied for last place with a 92 over 18 holes.  Nevertheless, I wouldn't trade that day for anything.
