Apartment search, in-processing

Today we looked at a couple places, and found one that would fit our needs quite nicely -- an immediately available, ground floor (so the kids can jump around all they want) 2/2 that's about 20 minutes from Fort Lee.

There are two problems, though -- it's a bit farther from the important places than SY would like, and she doesn't like the surrounding area. Plus, the rent is $900 -- she thinks it's a bit too much.

So, tomorrow we'll check out a few other places. If any of them seem better, we'll go with them; otherwise, we've found our new home.

I also spent my first "day" at work. I went to my new unit's administrative office and got information on in-processing. Basically, I have to finish six simple tasks between tomorrow and Friday, -- a seriously long time for in-processing. Then, starting Monday, I can go on permissive TDY through the 24th.

Looking back, I have to wonder why I stressed out so much to get here so quickly. On the plus side, it's less I'll have to worry about when it's busier. On the down side, I could have gone about things a bit more leisurely.

I'll see how much I can get done before the end of the week.
