It's one thing thrown in prison unjustly; it's another to stay there when an earthquake breaks open all the doors. In Acts 16:16-40 we see Paul and Silas doing just that -- and not for their sakes, but out of consideration for the jailer's life.
Apparently, this gesture meant a lot to the jailer, who washed their wounds, got baptized, and fed the two prisoners. As an added bonus, they were released the next day with an apology.
Verse 34 says "the jailer was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God." I think I should have that same heart -- joyful just because I believe.
