In Luke 22:54-62, Peter disowns Jesus three times. There's a parts in v61 that I find particularly impacting.
60 Peter replied, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed. 61 The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.” 62 And he went outside and wept bitterly. [NIV]
I can only imagine the look on Jesus' face -- disappointment, sadness, maybe a little I-told-you-so. I doubt Peter ever forgot it for as long as he lived.

Ever seen the musical "Upside Down"?
I'm not positive on the exact number, but at one point Peter conveys that story and then admits, "I killed 37 roosters that first year."
