CLC3 Day 26: MDMP

This morning we learned about arm bars from the guard, and "scrimmaged" a bit. I don't know who, but somewhere along the way I caught somebody's forearm on the right side of my chest and it's really sore. I'm concerned about how things will go tomorrow.

In the morning I gave a presentation based on Franck Frommer's book How PowerPoint makes You Stupid. In one of my more favorite ironies, I gave it in PowerPoint. It went well, which I was happy about.

One of the faculty who was visiting at the time said I'd make a good instructor, and recommended I consider teaching at Fort Lee in the future. I told him I've thought about it, but first I have to complete my company command time.

In the afternoon we studied the Military Decision Making Process, which is about the dryest stuff I can think of. Part of my problem, though, is that I'd never seen or heard of it before coming here, so it's a bit like studying shoelace-tying without ever having worn shoes.

At 3:30 we met in the auditorium for a chat with the branch managers, with whom we'll be sitting down individually tomorrow. SY and the kids will be there, too, which I'm happy about.

What I don't want to have happen, though, is this situation: From what I heard today, there are 20 positions to be filled among the five units there, so I don't think that's likely. Still, there's one position that would be ideal that I'm really hoping for.

Although I don't look forward to combatives, I can't wait until the meeting tomorrow.
