CLC3 Day 41: Victory in 3km & pistol

I'm very happy right now. I finished my 3000m run for the GAFPB in 14:15 -- within the 14:30 maximum to pass this event.

Was it a glorious, piece of cake accomplishment? No, but it's significant to me for three reasons. The first, obviously, is that there's one less event for me to train on.  Second, I timed my first 1000m, and it was on pace to beat that event (the 1000m is an alternative to the 100m I failed yesterday). Finally, a 14:15 3000km is roughly on pace to finish the APFT 2-mile in 14:50 -- a 90% score for my age group.

Plus I found a quarter on the ground near my car as I left.

In class, we briefed our practical exercise for our transportation plan and started a second P.E. on Transportation Infrastructure Analysis.

After class, I drove up to the shooting range in Richmond where we did the qualification for the pistol event. To qualify for the gold award, you have to shoot three targets once each, and then with your remaining two bullets shoot any two targets a second time.

I'm happy to say I met the standards for the gold award on the first try. That was good news! It made for a very productive day indeed.
Again I went to bed early so that I can be good for the ruck march tomorrow.
