CLC3 Day 53: ILAP

After PT, today's class started at 9:00.

Well, 9:15 because there was a problem with the instructor scheduling.

But really, it was 10:30 because most of us had issues with our Logistics Information Wharehouse (LIW) accounts.

So we learned about LIW functions for about an hour and then broke for lunch until 1:00. Then we learned for about an hour and a half more until 2:30. Then we were done.

This was a good class to have, but it's too bad that it was so short. Learning about LIW is one of those job skills that is really useful for commanders and S-4s. What it enables you to do is look through the spare parts system to locate excess items that can be used to fix your critical equipment.

Normally, that would be a warrant officer job, but there are times when he's out or you (as a rater) need to check on him.

Good, job-related skills training ... I wish we had more of it.
