After PT from 6:30 to 7:30, we continued with our ILAP class at 9:00. Again, we broke for lunch at 11:30 and returned at 1:00. We continued until 3:00 and were then done for the day.
ILAP is an interesting application (through LOGSA), but it has its limitations. It's a very useful tool for battalion maintenance officers to check on the company level maintenance programs, but as a class it's very easy to get lost in details.
Generally speaking, if a company commander can't do something in about 10 minutes, then it's not something that a commander should be doing. As such, ILAP is a good thing to train up the company executive officer on, especially if there isn't a warrant officer in the company.
The big news of the days is that I got my RFO -- the place we're scheduled is not our #1 pick, but it's a good #2. There's a meeting on Friday morning to discuss command sponsorship paperwork.
From 4 to 6, I was in an Equal Opportunity meeting with the people from my phase one group because of some issue I hadn't heard of beforehand. I listened to what was going on for about an hour and a half, then spoke up and summarized people's points and made a recommendation.
I apparently impressed the colonel in charge of ALU because he gave me a coin for my contribution. It was a little weird -- who else has ever gotten a coin for something they said in an EO discussion -- but it was a nice surprise.
