CLC3 Day 59: Getting ready

We covered a few more maintenance blocks of instruction today, but today's most interesting events were outside the classroom.

My kids went in for their passport photos, my Periodic Health Assessment (which I had scheduled for the training holiday on Friday) was cancelled, and I got my first round of immunizations (PPD and typhoid).

I also found out that while SY will have to get an overseas screening, the kids will not. That will make things easier. So in order to get command sponsorship, here's how things will go:
  1. Overseas screening (on DA Form 5888)
  2. EFMP authorization (DA Form 5888)
  3. Send packet to G-1 in Korea (2 week wait?)
  4. Get orders amended
  5. Go to travel office to arrange logistics
Apart from this process, I have to schedule my own appointment with the travel office to arrange for shipment of the household goods. The good news is that the weight limit for unaccompanied captains (25% of the normal 14,500 pounds) is still more than the full weight of our stuff.

The only issue is timing the move of our car, and what we want to do with our second one.
