After PT this morning, I attended the monthly levy briefing for OCONUS (Outside CONtinental U.S.) assignments. Speakers included representatives from transportation, the EFMP office, JAG, the Reassignments office, Passports, Medical Care, Army Community Services, and Finance. Nothing too detailed or significant, but it got me out of class.
After lunch we studied maintenance site selection, but that was about it. We finished at 2:00. Rather than head home immediately, though, I got my blood drawn for the mandatory HIV test. I still got home nice and early.
In the evening, I called the S-1 office for the brigade I'm assigned to. Unfortunately, my guess about the assignment system was correct -- because the brigade is spread out across the whole country, I really will not know what unit I'll be assigned to until I show up.
So it behooves me to finish this command sponsorship thing as soon as possible, since I'm sure it will impact my assignment.
