Orders amended, flights scheduled

My highest priority on Monday was to clear up the billing code issue on my orders, which worked well. Japan is 19 hours ahead of Hawaii, so their workweek effectively began on Sunday at around noon. Problem quickly solved.

With orders in hand, I went to the travel office on Schofield Barracks, which scheduled the flights easily. We'll leave according to the schedule proposed by the HR people in the Japan office -- within 30 days of when I got my final offer.

I'm impressed -- I didn't think the various offices in Hawaii would be able to pull this off around the holidays, but they did. The next steps are to sell the cars and unleash our inner Marie Kondo's. And with all Christmas shopping done, things just got a lot less stressful.

We're moving to Japan.
