Day 55 - Town infiltration

No CS gas attack last night, but I was ready. There was a skunk that came around, though it didn’t bother anyone. For breakfast I had a waffle, 2 pieces of bread w/PB&J, grits, ½ an orange, frosted flakes, OJ, and milk.

In the morning we did “Town infiltration,” which again was pretty silly because my platoon was mostly responsible for pulling security. I almost lost my promask, which would have been bad, but I retraced my steps and found it.

Apart from that, the only real excitement I had came from me and one of the other guys deciding to fire off all our blank ammunition despite there being no clear target. But hey, it was assigned for the purpose of shooting it, so that’s what we did.

I saw a white and purple hibiscus that made me think of Korea and SY.

For lunch I got MRE #21, Chili Macaroni. I relished in the chocolate chip mini cookies, wheat snack bread with jalapeno cheese, red hots, lemonade, and spiced cider. From then, we just relaxed and recovered for our final march, the nine miler. We picked out a spot in the woods and slept until 10:00, then woke up. I took an aspirin to help with the upcoming march.

Dinner was hamburger yakisoba, black eyed peas, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, an orange, orange drink, milk, and lemon cake. We got up again at 2300 for the “rucking up,” and then stood around for 45 minutes until we set off at midnight.
