The spouse and offspring arrived on Sunday, so for the past few days we've been busy discussing important bilateral issues such as which washing machine/dryer to buy, how cheap of a bed to get, and what we should do for a table.
We decided to forgo a dryer for now and take advantage of the Texan summer by using a Korean-style drying rack (빨래건조대)(example). We got a high efficiency washer from Sears, which through its price matching policy gave it to us for $110 less than its sticker price. Sweet.
For the table, we decided on a Korean-style table (상) for $50. It's got a decorative design, it folds up easily, and we won't need to buy chairs (or a high chair). Score.
Finally, for our bed we decided to skip the frame and just go with a mattress. We got ours from a locally Korean-owned furniture store. It was such a low-cost place that they didn't even have an air conditioner turned on.
In Texas.
In the summer.
Queen mattress for less than $300. Bless them.
