Improving your foxhole

There's an old Army tenet that you should improve your foxhole every day. Of course, you don't use foxholes in counter-insurgencies, but the idea that you should use your free time to develop your work area remains.

I don't know if it was because of this guiding principle, but my soldiers decided to use their free time to develop a place ... to better enjoy their free time. Check out our new recreation area:

That's a couch, some extra chairs, a card table, a TV, a refrigerater, and a projection screen.

Not bad. It's even got a kiddie pool in the back, filled with water from expired bottles (better than throwing it out, I suppose).


I suppose it's good to see, quite literally, my guys using their time constructively.
