Time at the range

This afternoon the Australians invited us to a firing range. It was way cool -- I got to fire a Styer (the Australian weapon) and an M9 for the first time.

Me firing my M16.

This one was cool because you can see the shell in mid-air.

This is the primary weapon for the Australians. I remember seeing one in Die Hard. Now I'll have to go back and watch it again.

The coolest picture of the day, though, was this one of some muzzle flash on an M249.

It's too bad we can't do this more often, but as transporters our marksmanship isn't our highest priority. When we're in garrison, we're lucky to put hands on our weapons more than twice a year.
