When I came in this morning at 8:00, the brigade was at 85% of its first basic load across all DODICs. Obviously this was more than I predicted we would use, but still not a big deal.
By the time the exercise ended at noon, we were down to 78% -- low enough to merit a resupply if the exercise had continued one more day, but still good enough to merit doing nothing -- pretty much on par with the rest of the week. For better or worse, I'd have to say my job as ammunition officer was the easiest in the class.
Eager to put the week behind us and get started on the weekend, we finished at 1:00.
In Korea-related news, I picked up the kids' passports and scheduled my family's travel concurrently with mine -- although it took two hours to work everything out, I couldn't have asked for a better end result. My family will be able to travel with me the entire way.
Now that I have orders authorizing the shipment of one car, our next step will be to drive down to the port on Monday. It will be a little weird to go back to sharing just the one car for the next month or so, but it will be worth it to have wheels available soon after we arrive.
