There are a number of stereotypes about police officers that cross cultural boundaries. One is that they're lazy (the coffee shop loiterer) and another is that they're corrupt (maybe not so much in the U.S.).
Well, whoever it is that writes ESL textbooks, you can't tell me these ones are slipping past the editors without a few giggles:
#1 Clean or Dirty?
That's right -- a dirty police officer. *sigh*
#2 What does a police officer do?
Yeah - I know what you're thinking: "Where's his donut?"
We're bad....
